Climate Change Champions

Redeemer University College is an undergraduate Christian liberal arts and science university committed to academic excellence and to enabling students to discover their unique gifts and callings in life. Situated in Ancaster, Ontario, our campus provides a beautiful environment in which to study and learn.  For 25 years, we have been enjoying theatre events, concerts, art exhibitions, sporting events, and lecture series as well as conferring degrees and diplomas.  At Redeemer, there is always something happening to challenge the mind and the senses, and to bring glory to God.

Actions Taken By Redeemer University College

1.    Greening Committee (made up of staff, admin & students) established
2.    Incorporating the Champions project, Student Brianne Fennema creates a Sustainability Strategic Plan for Redeemer as her graduating thesis (see attached report)
3.    Twenty native species trees planted in grounds
4.    Funding provided for 09/10 for organic and wet waste by food services
5.    Campus Market plans to carry more fair trade products
6.    Food Court will fill up your water bottle
7.    Waste audit (with economic benefits) completed for campus
8.    Funding provided for 09/10 for organic and wet waste by food services
9.    In September Fair Trade coffee will be available fresh at Market window
